So is this considered a 'blog'? or is this just a 'journal'- i'm a little confused. It's amazing the language that exists now that no one could have imagined even 10 years ago- who invents these words, anyway- and why haven't i been called to be apart of the making up of language? they obviously aren't aware of my born-in ability to make up words. it's who i am, it's what i do. adieu? adieu.

We're getting close to the tour and i'm getting excited. I think everything's in place- we're rehersing next week with the band- oh yeah- did i tell you this is a BAND tour? exciting, huh? Here's the line up: Justin Rosolino's rocking lead guitar, by boy Rufus will be rockin the bass, and Chad 'Don't call me Brad' Kinner will be throwing down on the drum kit. Josh Hoge's gonna sit in and sing background vocals on my stuff when he's done with his set, too- which will be a freaking BLAST. We've got some tricks up our sleeves this time around, so spread the word.

It's a rainy day in Nashville. Went to the Predators game last night (NHL). They smoked the Blues- mad fun. Sporting events are just FUN, you know? who woulda thought.

ok, i'm out for now- gotta get to work- there's not much time left before we hit the road!

Be the ball-

I'm hitting the road this April with my friend Mat Kearney and special guest Josh Hoge. Check out the list of shows and mark your calendars...we are doing some advance ticket sales that are on sale starting today. Just follow the links on the shows list on my myspace page or you can check out my website.

"Why buy tickets in advance?" you may ask. Well, lemme tell ya...first of all, with Kearney and Hoge joining me on these dates, there is a good chance these shows will sell out and I want you to come. Secondly, the tickets are cheaper if you get them now then if you wait and go through our friends at ticketmaster. Who loves you? Wertz does.

Hope to see you out at the shows!

Rosolino's singing 'I wanna do my overdub, Nuk, Nuk, I wanna do my overdub, Nuk, Nuk'- this could only mean one thing.
Rosolino's Crazy.
Well, ok, so maybe two things- Rosolino's crazy AND, more importantly, we're in the studio.
The songs are abrewin' and its feelin GREAT. I've got Chad Gilmore and Calvin Turner on loan from Marc Broussard, who we're meeting for dinner after we're done here. Lots of energy coming through in these takes- just what we were looking for. Shive keeps playing this really familiar piano part over an over again. Cover? Yes. Which one? Guess.

I can't wait to let you in on my secret that is this record. Thanks for being patient.

A friend of mine recently related with me in how life operates for us. We have two gears. First and Fifth. I have been operating in Fifth for the past 2 weeks, and finally pulled the emergency brake. It seems like when I'm choosing to be busy it's a lot harder to CHOOSE to slow down, but when I'm busy because i'm touring, it's a no brainer. Stopping is a necessity for living. I guess i need to learn how to drive in 3rd every once in awhile- 3rd's a perfectly good gear. It's an 'around the town' kind of gear. it's a gear for every day. It's every man's gear. I feel like this would be the time when i would offer some kind of 'moral of the story' or benediction or something- a lesson to pass on to better everyone's life. I don't have one. I hope for y'all that this week leading up to Christmas is a Third gear one.

Merry Christmas, everybody! I kinda feel like i've dropped the ball, waiting til now to tell y'all that- i mean, it IS almost a month since Halloween. Im at home enjoying not doing a whole lot- seeing a lot of movies, hanging with the fam, you know how it is. or maybe you dont...i'm sorry, that was terribly insensitive. I didn't know...akward.

So i made a new mix on iTunes for Christmas time and i wanted to tell you about it. Here's the songs- i think you'll like 'em:

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year-Andy Williams
Winter Wonderland-Louis Armstrong
White Christmas-Bing Crosby
Frosty the Snow Man -Harry Connick, Jr.
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas-Take 6
My Favorite Things-Tony Bennett
This Christmas-Donny Hathaway
Christmas Time Is Here (Instrumental)-Vince Guaraldi Trio
O Holy Night-Martina McBride
Silent Night-Johnny Cash
Tennessee Christmas-Amy Grant

I'll be back in a week or so, but until then, Have a great Thanksgiving, y'all!
